Digging Out The Truth!

Today was a fun day! We had a little crime scene investigation and I felt like I was Detective Conan. I felt really smart even though it was not me who did it. I was just observing. ^^ We made a nuclear radiation test to the agriculture products of Ten-ei to confirm that the agriculture products are safe.

We bought some vegetables from the local grocery store. And then we made our way to the office to test the food. We blended them and heard a liitle lecture on the safety of Ten-ei’s products. Group C went first to the room where the nuclear radiation test machines are situated.

If I was not mistaken, the name of the machines are Ortec. Those machines were really expensive, and there are ten of them all over Fukushima. It may seem like buying the machines were just a waste of money, but it really showed that Fukushima really wanted to prove to us that their product are really safe.

The results were out 20 minutes later. And guess what, the result showed us that the products are actually 100% safe! The nuclear radiation test even proved that the level of nuclear radiation in Ten-ei is the same as New York, London, Rome and other big countries.

We also watched a video that told us about the effort of Ten-ei’s farmers to reduce the nuclear radiation level of the soil. They experimented with various chemical substances which are Prussian Blue, Zeolyte and Caesium. And they succeeded, the radiation level decreased, and the soil became fertile once again.

Three Ortecs in this room.
After that, we had onigiri(rice ball) that we made ourselves for lunch. It was very easy and not to mention, delicious!

Then, we had to design a rice package for the Ten-ei’s rice. Ten-ei’s rice is very well-known for its outstanding delicious taste in Japan. They even won the award for the best rice for 5 years in a row. Amazing, right?

The rice package was to promote the rice so that everyone will buy the rice. So, we have to make the rice package as interesting as possible!

Our rice package.

Our rice package was given the name of Midori Rice which means Green Rice. We gave the rice package green to show that our main purpose is to make the world’s green once more. The boy’s name is Riku-riku. We used Riku-riku as our mascot because we hoped that the young generations of Ten-ei will raise the name of Ten-ei’s rice in the future. The globe showed that Ten-ei’s rice will be famous worldwide.

Our inspiration, Riku-kun!
